This is just a test to see if I can accomplish a css task.
Hmmmm. I want this text to the right of the image.
Let's see if this works and how my text is aligned. Cross your fingers.

Alex is babysitting now. She'll probably be gone for most of the night since Carol and her daughter went to a wedding. Who would get married on Labor Day Weekend??? So I'll be here "putzing" around the house. I wonder if there's anything good on tv. I'll check the tv guide. Maybe I'll post my pictures on dotphoto. I haven't done that in a while. I have to put them on a cd first. It makes it much easier (and faster) to upload them. I know everybody who's in Ludington right now is having a good time because the weather is georgeous! Maybe I'll walk down to Carol's and see if Alex and Michael want to take a walk. Boy, are cats LAZY!!! They've been sleeping on my bed all day long. Well, except when we're on the computer, Kringle likes to sleep on top of the monitor. Cats are brats! But ya gotta love em!!! Later............
We went to Dow Gardens and the Tridge today. It was a nice day to take a walk so I thought we'd take a ride out to Midland. I'll have to share my photos with you soon.

Since I will be home this weekend, I've decided I am going to work more on my blog and update my other sites. My "Mrs. Serrato Says..." will be a personal site now and I'll give you the URL soon. I think I'll create a new site from geocities so I can share photos there. It's very easy to add photos there. The downside is the data transfer time is limited and once you've used up your time for that hour, a message is displayed telling your visitors to try back later. Oh well. I'm so much more motivated on this now than I was even a couple of days ago. You know how when you get out of the habit of doing something, it's hard to get back in the habit of it? Well, that's where I was at. But since I've changed my blogsite around, I have more motivation to do my other sites as well. (And Alex didn't even help me!) On a different note: I'm really enjoying my job at St. John's even more than I did. The bookkeeping part is keeping me challenged and BUSY! I'm looking forward to starting my new hours next week. For now, I'm going to enjoy my long weekend, even though we're not going to Ludington. Later........
Well, I finally did it! I picked a template and changed it all around. It took me a long time but I think I like it. This is cool. And I can change it anytime I want. I printed out the code for it first and I had to figure out what was what and I would change one thing at a time so I knew where it was that I was making the change to see if I liked it and I took notes and I am saving them. It was much easier to have a printed copy of what I was doing. I'll see what else I can do. Tomorrow................

This time I think I did mess up my archives. I don't know what happened but I'll figure it out. Maybe I should move my counter after all. We'll see..................
Well I was able to add a counter to my blog. It wasn't where I really wanted it but I think I'll keep it there after all. I really need to work with this some more. I was going to start another blog to use as an experimental place but I guess I can just experiment here. Why not?

8.27.2002

I just checked my blogspot and I would like to know what happened to the rest of my archives. I'll post my question on bloggersanonymous.

(1 minute later) Forget that. This time they all loaded. Goodnight!
By now you probably know not to hold your breath waiting for me to do something. I haven't even felt like blogging lately for some reason. I spent a good portion of the evening filling in my calendar for the school/work year, putting in all the "no school" days, the "no work" days, my house-cleaning jobs (which I don't have all on a regular schedule yet), and my Finance Comm. and Parish Council meetings. I got a free calendar from the place that used to do our school pictures so I figured I may as well fill it in. While I was doing that, I thought about the finance and ppc meetings that I'll be attending every month, and it occurred to me that it will add 4 hours to my total hours worked because I get paid to go to these meetings and take minutes. I thought it would be a good idea to just add an extra hour of pay to every week instead of adding them up to equal a day off (which is what I used to do.) At this point, I need the $$ more than I need the days off. Starting Tuesday, September 3, my hours at St. John's will be 8-3:30 Monday-Thursday. I'm looking forward to having Friday's off. I will be cleaning houses on every 3rd Friday but that's quite alright with me! Alex likes her new school so far and she started her babysitting job today. She'll be able to save some $$ for sure! I don't much care for getting up at 6:15 a.m. but I'll do it because I have to. I have to get in the bathroom first in the morning or I might not get in there! Until the next time........................

8.21.2002

Mom just showed me how to add a picture to my blog!!! ha! boo ya! Anyway, I'm happy now. I'll blog later and see what other kinds of cool stuff I can do to make it look more like a website. I like the way her's looks so I think I'm going to copy her. Later!

8.13.2002

The last couple of days have been totally unproductive for me. I have come out of my 'slump' though today and I am in the process of typing/updating my resume. I'm also waiting for 9:30 to come so I can join the family in a chat on msn. I'm looking forward to that. I'm already signed in but no one else was there yet so I thought I'd come blog. I've just earned another "free" day off because I have accumulated 6 hours at work. I'm thinking about taking Friday off. I will see to it that all my work gets done so I can do that. I'm going to check the chat room now. Later.............

8.11.2002

Ok, you all know that SJS has closed. So we move on. Alex is taking this change pretty good and I'm grateful for that. I need to get my resume updated and out there so I can find a job! Today's a good day to do that. Bye!

In just a few short hours, the fate of St. Josaphat School will be announced. I will not be attending the meeting due to the wake service of Emilio's father. Linda on the other hand will be there and I did call Fr. Ron to let him know why I would be absent from the meeting. Alex and I are still praying that the decision will be in our favor. If they should decide to close the doors, I will be looking for a job for me, and a school for Alex. Two things I really don't want to have to do right now. Of course when is it ever pleasant to have to find employment unless it's by your choice?? Because of my second part-time job, I believe my unemployment $$ will SUCK. I know some of you reading this may not like that word, but I cannot think of a better word to describe it right now. I know in my heart and in my mind that things do happen for a reason. When one door closes, another one opens. Something good will come of whatever happens tonight, I know. My next blog will no doubt be about the future of SJS (if there is one.) Until then............

Yeah. Another week, another dollar! Well, I've been doing pretty good on the bookkeeping at St. John's, and I'm getting an extra hour a day there to do it. Today was frustrating at work though. I had two people call at the last minute to tell me they'd be in; one to take back tables and chairs they had borrowed earlier in the week and one to use our copy machine (that was broke and I had to babysit it all day to get my bulletins copied.) You know, people know the hours and still they wait until the last minute to take care of business. That IRKS me!!! (Alex looked that word up for me.) Anyway, I was only there an extra 15 minutes but still, it's Friday and I like to get out on time on Fridays. Update on the latest at SJS: I heard we raised $100,000 so far to keep the school open. I heard that from someone at the diocese so I don't know how true it is. This particular person said she had talked to Fr. Ron a couple of times this week and that's what he said. We only need $75,000 more! I still want to have a Spaghetti Dinner to raise money. I hope they keep that (and all the other fund-raising ideas) in mind when they make their decision as to whether we have enough money raised or not. There are all KINDS of ways to make money if you really want to. We will find out this coming Monday what the future of the school is. Please keep your fingers crossed and hope we stay open.
