I still haven't made more suckers. But I've been working on other crafts. I think I'm just going to sell pins, magnets, suckers, and decorated trees. Alex says I should limit the number of different things I sell. Speaking of selling, I have raffle tickets to sell. Anybody want to buy some? Today I had planned on spending it at home to do crafts and do some things around the house that need to be done, but early this afternoon, I decided we would go to the Midland Mall. There was an ulterior motive to go to that mall because there's a craft store in Midland called "Ken's Crafts" and I wanted to check it out. We returned home about 4 hours later. I worked on my crafts until now and I thought I'd check my email and the family's blogs. Now I'm very tired so I'll call it a night. Goodnight.

Did you ever have "one of those days?" Well I had one today. Everything was good until the last two and a half hours at work. It was all down-hill from there. I got through it though and tomorrow is a new day. I tried to make suckers tonight and I don't know if my heart just wasn't in it or what but I didn't get very far. I got distracted with yet another idea. I spent the rest of the evening working on my new project. I'll share it with you all if you are unable to come to our bazaar. And to think my plan for this year's bazaars was to limit my crafts instead of selling a little bit of everything. Oh well, that's what keeps me going I guess. I have no choice to make suckers since I have about a dozen bags of that candy to make them with. It just wasn't happening tonight. I'm getting hungry so I better go to bed. Goodnight.

I just went to Granni's Grumbles to check out the blogs and all I got was "this page cannot be displayed." I hate when that happens. Do they close at midnight or what??? This has happened before and it's usually late at night. Anybody else have the same problem?

I see my entries are posted on my blog. That's good. Well, this afternoon after I got out of work, I went to some area businesses to ask for donations for our raffle at SS. Simon and Jude bazaar. Some of the places I went to told me the donation requests have to be sent to their corporate offices and reviewed and will take 4-6 weeks to get a response. I don't have 4-6 weeks this year, but I will sure keep them in mind for next year. But I was successful at a couple of the places I went to. So far we have a boom box from Circuit City and a $10.00 gift card from Kessel. I'll be back out there in a few days "begging" for more prizes to raffle off. Being turned down is not as bad as I thought it would be. Every single person I talked to was very polite and I believe only doing their job and following their procedures. I will keep everyone posted on that subject in future blogs. If anyone has an idea about where I could go to ask for donations, please share them with me. Email me and I'll be glad to go out there and ask. I'm thinking locally-owned businesses might be the way to go. Those big companies don't usually make those kind of decisions. We also have a free manicure, a free oil change and a free wash and wax to raffle off - along with our four BIG prizes. Did I mention them? 1.) Sony mini component system with 60 CD changer and 5 speakers; 2.) Sony Walkman with CD/MP3/CD-R/CD-RW playback (and it doesn't skip!); 3.) $100.00 gift certificate to the Fashion Square or Midland Mall; 4.) 900 mhz cordless telephone with caller id display and built-in answering machine. Later!
I don't know what's up with this blogger thing but I just posted and published, then viewed my blog and I didn't see my last entry. We'll see if it works tomorrow. I have to go to bed!
If you've been reading my blog regularly, you know that I've been a bit concerned about our SS. Simon and Jude bazaar. Well, as of today, it looks like it will go as planned. I was very discouraged for a while because we didn't have that many crafters renting tables. Well, today I made some phone calls and had some success. You know how some of us tend to wait until last minute to do things..............it's not as uncommon as we may think. So the good news is that we will be having a bazaar on October 12 at SS. Simon and Jude from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. If anybody who lives in town (or out of town) can pay us a visit, please do so. I'll be making enchiladas the day before and we'll be featuring a Mexican luncheon. We'll also have sloppy joes, hot dogs, and soup this year. Of course family gets a special discount. I heard that St. Joseph Parish is having their bazaar on the same day almost right across the street from our parish at the Community Center so that can be a good thing for our volume of visitors. We're raffling off some great prizes again this year. Tickets are $1.00 each or 6 for $5.00. Hey, you never know...............last year at St. John's I won the $100.00 prize!!! I didn't make my suckers yet but I will start those tomorrow night. I have a pretty busy week ahead of me so I need to get in gear when I can! If anyone is interested in buying tickets, please email me. The link is to the left. I will mail them to you. Goodnight.........................

Wow, it's been 5 days since I blogged. Why do my weekends seem so busy? I guess because it's the most convenient time to do things that we don't have time to do during the week. It's already Sunday evening; a cold evening here. Alex had a game in Bay City this afternoon and it rained. What a bummer. I made some more crafts for the bazaar this weekend and I was thinking of making some suckers tonight. Usually once I get started on a project, I feel more motivated to keep going. I tried to get a good picture of the moon last night but none of them turned out real good. It just looked like a white circle with a black background. Maybe another night. I'll blog later...........

I hope our church bazaar is successful this year. I'm getting a little worried because we don't have that many people signed up to rent tables yet. I'll think positive. It works better. When I logged onto the internet tonight, Linda and Marcia were on and I guess they were chatting. Well, I got invited to their conversation and it took us to Yahoo Conference. I guess if you have more than two people chatting on yahoo, it automatically takes you there. I don't like it much. Linda says they changed it when they updated. I'm sure we've had more than two people on yahoo instant messenger before. Again, why do they change things if they don't NEED to be changed??? Who knows? Well, our family uses msn when we have a group. That hasn't happend in a while; maybe I better go check out sfc. Until tomorrow.....................

Today was our Parish Picnic so Alex and I went to church and stayed for the picnic. The food was good but there weren't a lot of people that stayed for the picnic. Maybe some of the reason was the drizzly weather but I don't think that's all of it. I sure hope our bazaar is more successful! This year we are putting signs up around town to advertise when and where our bazaar is. I hope that brings more people in. Tuesday I'm going to various businesses to ask for donations for our raffle. We already bought the 4 big prizes but we always try to get donations from area businesses. Well, they're really not in the area but I know people will shop where I plan to get gift certificates from. Places such as Circuit City, Best Buy, Media Play, Kessel, Meijer, Wal-Mart, K-Mart, Staples, Office Max, and I'm not sure where else. Once I get out there, I'll just stop as many places as I can. What can they say? Just yes or no. I think the more chances of winning something worth winning, the easier it is to sell tickets. Some of the items the crafters donate aren't that good. Some are though. It's take a chance time. Our tickets will go on sale soon. I'm in the process of sorting them in groups of 12 so we can send 12 to each parishioner to sell. I will try to sell 10 times that though. I think I can. Our bazaar is October 12 and the only way I can have a table at it is if Alex watches it (unless Windy is going to be in it.) I have to be in the kitchen. Oh well. St. John's Bazaar is October 26 and I plan on being in that one too.

I forgot to resize the pictures below before I uploaded them to FortuneCity, so when I added them here, I checked the width and height pixels and divided them both by 3 and this is what I came up with. Otherwise, the pictures would have been way too big. So just in case you ever upload a picture to your FortuneCity website without resizing it to fit the blog area, you can still do it afterwards. Just a little tip..........
I guess you can add a picture right into this area. Let's see:

It should be pictures of the sunset and the moon.

I wish I could be as profound as some of my family in their blogs..................well don't look for that any time soon I guess. Our road is finally close to being done here. They put the asphalt on and now they have so put more on the edges to smooth it into our driveways. It sure seems like they've taken a long time doing this project. Of course they started out putting sewer lines in. We have no more ditches on our road! People were already burning rubber when they left their driveways this morning. Why do people do that? It only wears their tires faster. Oh well; their problem, not mine. I finally washed my car yesterday. You couldn't tell if it was black or brown with all the dirt/sand that stuck to it during the road work. I read Mom's blog last night and it really touched me. I hope the Saginaw News publishes it. I told her she should have been a journalist. Maybe she ought to think about printing everything she's written so far and continuing to do so. We got a pretty smart "granni", don't ya think? Time for me to be "productive" on my day off...............

I finally updated LAST week's bulletin on my SS. Simon and Jude site and it's already THIS week. That's ok because once you get started, it's a whole lot easier to keep up. I got up this morning and decided to get it all updated. Tomorrow I will post this week's bulletin and will do my best to keep it up to date. I still haven't figured out what I'm doing wrong with putting music on this blog. I must consult with my expert. I know she can help me figure it out. I finally painted the four doors that still needed paint on them since we moved here over a year ago. Yesterday I got motivated to do that and it took me from the time I got home at 3:30 until about 11:00 at night to finish. I only have one more door to put a second coat of paint on and that's the front door. I'm not touching that until they're done re-paving the road. There's just way too much dirt flying around. They will probably do that Monday. We have new sidwalks and now we're going to have a new road. I'm glad they're almost done with it. A lot of the time I had to park my car down the street and walk home because I couldn't even get in my driveway due to all the tractors and trucks doing work on the road. It sure is going to be nice when it's done though.

I haven't figured it out yet, but I'm trying to get music on my blogspot. When you hear music, you'll know I succeeded! Why did I lose my "archives" list again??? We have a funeral at St. John's Friday and the man that passed away is Mexican. I got to do the worship aid for it and most of the songs are in Spanish. Boy, is it hard to type Spanish! My words-per-minute go WAY DOWN! Plus, the spell-check doesn't help any! I was glad to do it because it's something I used to do before Honora was my boss and I wouldn't mind doing them all the time, so maybe I can convince Honora that it should be part of my job again. I like the way mine look and it's something the family really appreciates when the worship aid is done nice. Well, I'll try a bit more to add music here, then time to hit the hay!

I was going to add a link to my email here but didn't know how and didn't have enough time to look it up. I'll do that now. You'll know if it works if I have a link on my blog. My next goal is to add links to other people's blogs here. I started updating SS. Simon and Jude site and I am so glad! It feels good to be productive! Why is that? Human nature? Who knows?
It's Tuesday morning already! Where did the weekend go? I was going to post something last night and I was having trouble with the internet. I posted some pictures on dotphoto yesterday until it started giving me problems too. I spent a good portion of the day looking for my password to get into the SS. Simon and Jude site so I could update that and finally found it. I'm going to type them in a document and save them on my computer as well as print a copy out. Then, I had to do a letter and app. for the prospective bazaar people for our church to be mailed out today and I couldn't figure out how to create labels on the new version of Works that I just installed. Alex re-entered all 100 names and addresses into a database after I installed Works 4.5 back on the computer and I was able to make labels and get the letters ready to go out in the mail. But meanwhile, I was on the other computer doing a backup of all my data so I could reformat the hard drive because when I tried to install Works on there, it was not working. Talk about a day!!! Don't you think a newer version of a program would be better than the older version? Well, I'm here to tell you, that is not always the case. I LIKE my Works 4.5 and I'm keeping it. If anyone reading this has used Works 6.0 and has done address labels on it, please email me and let me know what the steps are. Anyway, back to the grindstone........
